Briarwood Healthcare Centers at both Friendship Village of Schaumburg and GreenFields of Geneva have been designated as being among the best nursing homes in the country by U.S. News and World Report 2021-2022. This prestigious honor is awarded to only the top nursing homes, providing high quality and attentive care. Friendship Senior Options oversees both Friendship Village and GreenFields. These are preeminent Chicago-area Life Plan Communities offering a complete continuum of care, including independent living garden and apartment homes, assisted living and memory support. In addition, Briarwood Healthcare Centers provide skilled care and short and long-term rehabilitation services.
U.S. News and World Report is a leading provider of service news and information that focuses on important and relevant issues. The study on nursing homes was undertaken as U.S. News, and World Report acknowledges their important role in society.
For 2021-2022, of the 13,175 nursing homes evaluated, only 1,063 nationwide earned the Best Nursing Home recognition. This is less than 9%, placing Briarwood among a very elite group of care providers. Criteria included health inspections and the absence or low incidence of deficiencies in state-conducted health inspections, nurse staffing, quality of medical care and rehabilitation therapy minutes. It also included resident and staff COVID-19 vaccination data.
“The rating at both of our healthcare centers reflect our dedication to and success at providing the very best resident-centered care,” said Mike Flynn, CEO for Friendship Senior Options. “The designation as ‘top-rated nursing homes’ is a tremendous honor and serves to reaffirm that we fulfill our commitment to our residents and their families. We are very proud of our dedicated staff at Briarwood of Friendship Village and of GreenFields.”
