On September 20-24th, approximately 90 participants ages 62 and over competed in 15 events, including bocce ball, pop-a-shot, Wii bowling and an obstacle course, as Friendship Village in Schaumburg held their Silver Games. The 13th event featured friendly competition for seniors, encouraging exercise of both the body and the brain.
The Silver Games are developed for all ability, activity, and interest levels, with a focus on celebrating seniors.
“Each year, the residents look forward to Silver Games. Unfortunately, last year we had to suspend the popular event because of COVID. We were excited this year to again be able to draw on their competitive spirit while cheering on their friends and neighbors,” said Julie Hubbard, SeniorFit Program Exercise Physiologist at Friendship Village. “We’re already looking forward to 2022!”
