Food Management Names Top Senior Dining Power Players

Mosaic Sign

Friendship Village of Schaumburg is on Food Management’s inaugural list of the top 25 Senior Dining Power Players. The list was designed to provide readers a “glimpse into how some of the largest entities operate their dining programs and what, if any, changes and enhancements they’ve made.” Taken into consideration were the country’s 150 largest not-for-profit senior living communities as identified by LeadingAge/Ziegler.

Friendship Village was the only retirement community in Illinois on the Dining Power Players list. Food Management cited Friendship Village’s newest restaurant Mosaic. Unveiled just over a year ago, Mosaic offers American and world cuisines, a chef’s table, and a tiled wood-burning oven. Mosaic is adjacent to the newly launched FORKK, Friendship Village’s state-of-the-art teaching kitchen, which offers live and televised cooking classes. Friendship Village will soon be opening Bluestone, a pub with small-plate offerings. The introduction of the new dining options is key to Friendship Village’s dining strategy. Since 2015, the senior living community has collaborated with Morrison Living to provide the highest quality experience for residents through their enhanced offerings and venues.

Food Management features trends and best practices, products, and solutions that connect with the non-commercial foodservice professional.
