Healthcare Center Earns Highest Designation

Cms Five Star

Friendship Senior Options is proud to announce that Briarwood Healthcare Centers at both of its senior living communities: Friendship Village of Schaumburg and GreenFields of Geneva, have received the highly esteemed five-star rating from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

CMS created the Five-Star Quality Rating System to help older adults, their families and caregivers compare skilled nursing providers. This system evaluates health inspections, staffing, and quality measures. Of the more than 16,000 nursing homes evaluated, only 25% receive the highest five-star designation.

Casey Pudwill, the administrator at Briarwood Healthcare Center of Friendship Village, said, “The five-star rating accurately reflects our system-wide commitment to providing the best quality care possible. Earning the five-star rating demands consistent attention to service by all of our dedicated team members, and we’re proud that our efforts are successful and have been recognized.”

In addition to ranking among the elite in terms of CMS quality measures, Briarwood Healthcare Centers at both Friendship Village and GreenFields have earned and maintained their CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) Accreditation. This completely voluntary adherence to more than 1,200 rigorous national and international quality standards is an official testament to Friendship Senior Options’ commitment to excellence.

Friendship Senior Options is the not-for-profit organization that sponsors Friendship Village and GreenFields, two of the Chicago area’s leading Life Plan Communities.
