Predictions are that Friendship Village’s tenth annual Silver Games will be the most successful to date. On September 11th-15th, approximately 350 participants ages 62 and over, will be competing in more than 30 events including quarterback toss, seated floor hockey, soccer penalty kicks, Sudoku, and archery. Events that are new for the 10th anniversary include laser tag, arcade car racing, and skee ball.
The Silver Games feature friendly competition for seniors and encourage exercise of both the body and the brain.
The Silver Games, which are coordinated by Friendship Village, are held in cooperation with the Schaumburg Park District, The Barn, and Roosevelt University Institute for Continued Learning.
While the primary focus is celebrating seniors, the games are also a great example of the amazing things that can happen through community partnerships. With tremendous resources in the Schaumburg area, there are many organizations with which to collaborate for the event.
The Silver Games are developed for all ability, activity and interest levels.
