“There are so many different options and a lot of new terminology out there that’s hard to decipher. Our objective is to help navigate all of the information available so that people can be well informed,” said Dean Dellaria, director of marketing for Friendship Village. On May 22nd, Dellaria will present his program Senior Living 101 to older adults investigating the various alternatives in senior housing. “Our goal is to inform seniors about everything that is available to them. We’ll talk about rental vs. life care communities, for-profit vs. not-for-profit, and the differences between independent living, assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing communities as well as provide an overview of the different contract types available,” he said. “We hear from people that they have so many questions. We try to anticipate anything they might want to know so that we can help them understand the answers.”

Senior Living 101 will be held in Assembly Hall at Friendship Village, 350 W. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg on May 22, 2019 at 1 o’clock. The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. RSVP is required at 847-884-5050.
