Senior Fair

Friendship Village in Schaumburg is proud to introduce its inaugural Wellness Experience for seniors. The event will feature a vendor exposition, educational sessions, a keynote speaker, lunch, and free raffles and giveaways. Sponsored by Friendship Village in collaboration with Harper College Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning Institute, and Institute for Continued Learning at Roosevelt University, The Wellness Experience will be held at Harper College on June 2 from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Dean Dellaria of Friendship Village said that the event is the fulfillment of a long-term dream. “Friendship Village is a leader in senior housing. A responsibility as a leader, is to share, and this is a way for us to share information, resources, lifelong learning opportunities and products and services targeted to older adults to help promote health and wellness. This has been our vision in putting this event together.”

The exposition will feature more than 30 vendors focusing on products and services for older adults. The educational sessions, conducted by industry leaders, will cover topics that are especially relevant to seniors including mental health and memory loss, the importance of mindfulness and living with purpose, safety issues, pharmaceuticals and more.

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Tom Sattler, an expert on fitness who will discuss aging and wellness. A box lunch will be served.

“The program was carefully developed with the sole purpose of promoting health and wellness. Our mantra at Friendship Village is ‘Get Set’. This program supports that, and is the first step in a journey to help prepare for the next chapter of our lives,” said Dellaria.
