Friendship Village’s 2012 Talent Show was a blast from the past as it paid homage to a 1940 USO Show. Friendship Village’s talented residents and associates performed to a standing-room only crowd on Friday, August 24th in Assembly Hall at Friendship Village.
Among the many highlights of the show, was the exuberant performance by The Boopettes, five male residents of Friendship Village singing and dancing to Betty Boop’s “I Want to be Loved by You”. Associates Jillian Nicoli and Rick Paisley who have become a favorite dance team at FV, graced the show with their elegant choreography to “Cheek to Cheek”. FV associate Mary Jo McHugh shared her beautiful rendition of “I’ll Be Seeing You”, and resident Bob Green sang “America the Beautiful” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”. FV associates Kate Garbarek and Jeannette Magdaleno backed up by a group of residents, sang and danced to “Rosie the Riveter”.
Impersonating Bob Hope as the emcee, was Mike McCann, director of lifestyles at FV. The production was directed by lifestyles associates Jeannette Magdaleno and Donna Brown, with light and sound managed by Jeff Rose.
The annual talent show is a great way to show off the talents and exuberance of Friendship Village’s vibrant residents and staff.
