Volunteer at Friendship Village
Volunteers provide many services and experiences for Friendship Village residents. They contribute to our mission of promoting the wellness and independence of all who live here. Their lives become richer and more interesting because of the many hours that volunteers contribute to our community. We also like to think that volunteers receive something too –- new relationships, friendships and a sense of having contributed in important ways to the lives of some wonderful older adults. You can make a difference.
Enrich your life and lives of others
Your time and talents will be put to good use when you join us as a volunteer at Friendship Village. We want to make sure we provide the best match for your individual skills and interests, so we offer a wide range of possibilities. And we offer them for all kinds of people: adults, children, students, groups – even our own residents, many of whom volunteer either within Friendship Village or out in the local area.
We also welcome your ideas. We'd love to create a customized program based on your particular interests. Play an instrument? Sing? Like to garden or cook? Maybe you're an expert flower arranger. Maybe you'd like to bring in your kids. Whatever your hobby, whatever you want to share, we can find a way to make it happen.
Ongoing volunteer opportunities include:
• Help us with various programs and events
• Organize some arts and crafts
• Lead games and sports
• Visit with a resident
• Bring in your pet, especially if it's trained and certified as part of a pet therapy program
• Share your computer skills
• Assist us with administrative tasks
We are always looking for groups like boy scouts, girl scouts, local churches and corporate volunteers to help us with larger events.
